The Swoveland land was not in Dutch Corner. It was near Trout run near St Clairsville. I added this to the 6/18 post.

Well, I am not surprised. The word "Swoveland" is completely new to me.

You know, eventually, after I have an idea of who married whom from the Bowser homestead, I would like to speculate on what their courtship was like. Was it romantic? Was it a matter of convenience? Here's where an historical novelist could take over.

In the field...

I have found the foundation of an elaborate "Spring House", which may well have been the original Bowser homestead. I have known that there was once a spring house there for quite a while, but today I found evidence of a larger structure. Determining exactly where that Bowser homestead was, may prove impossible; but, as of today, I would make my best guess influenced by what I have found (drained) .
