Imlertown is located in the central area of Dutch Corner. Imlertown was named for one of the first residents of Dutch Corner, George Michael Imler Jr., who was the son of George Michael Imler and Esther Anna Schober. George Michael Jr., who was born around 1739 in Pa, married Catherine Walters in 1761, and they moved to the Dutch Corner area around 1763. While George Michael Sr. (who was born in Germany in 1705) died in Western Pennsylvania in what is now Adams County, Esther Schober Imler died at her son's farm in after 1788, and is supposed to be buried at the original location of his farm. George Michael Jr. died in 1816, and Catherine died in 1833, and both are supposed to be buried at the same location as his mother, on their farm.
